Crypto reconciliation

Crypto reconciliation is the process of matching every on-chain and exchange transaction to a complete, consistent set of records with dates, amounts, and cost basis, so the resulting gains, losses, and income are correct and defensible.

It means importing every wallet and exchange, identifying internal transfers, classifying each event, resolving missing basis, and tying totals to what brokers reported on Forms 1099-DA and 1099-MISC. It is accounting work, and on active accounts it is the bulk of a crypto tax engagement.

Why it matters: reconciliation is what turns a software export into a return that survives an audit.
